Argentina
South American Fowl and  Big Game Hunts

High Volume Dove Hunt

Cordoba is famous for being the highest volume dove hunting destination in the world.  The La Zenaida lodge is located right next to one of the largest roosts in the whole province.  This lodge is just one and a half hours east of Cordoba airport.  There is an estimated twenty million birds that make this roost there home year round.  This ensures incredible high volume shooting year round.  Besides the great hunting you will also experience the highest levels of personal service.  The Argentina cuisine is some of the best served anywhere in the world.  The beef, wine, and deserts are a gourmet food lovers dream come true.  The combination of food, service, luxury accommodations, and thousands of rounds of burnt powder truly make this an unforgettable hunt.

The lodge has eight double bedrooms for a maximum capacity of 16 people all equipped with AC and a  private bathroom.  The lodge comes complete with a big living room/dining room with a big fireplace, bar, a spa, sauna, and massage table.  What makes this lodge truly unique is that it literally sits right next to the roost.  Hunters that get tired of shooting may choose to have the professionally trained cook whip them up a delicious snack.  The location of the lodge eliminates all of the need for tedious trips back and forth from dove fields to accommodations.  This leaves more time for guests to rest, relax, and enjoy their hunt.  The dove season is opened 365 days a year and the birds never stop flying. Hunters may expect to shoot between 1,000 and 3,000 rounds per day. Since Argentina is located in South America there summer is our winter and vice versa.

Pigeon and Dove Combination Hunt
For an exciting change of pace hunters may opt for a pigeon, and dove combo shoot.  The pigeon area is located two hours northwest of the city of Cordoba.  The season is also open 365 days a year.  You can shoot 120 pigeons on any given day.  These birds are large and fast, and work very well with decoys.  Like the guests keep saying, “its like hunting ducks on dry land”.

Many guest find this is a great experience when combined with the dove shoot at La Zenaida.  For this reason I recommend a combined hunt that includes 3 days of shooting doves and 2 days of hunting pigeons in the beautiful Estancia Siguiman.

In Estancia Siguiman you’ll feel transported to the past, but the with all the comforts of today. The tranquility you’ll find in this 333 year old ranch built by Jesuits is unsurpassed.  A large gathering room features an inviting fireplace with a comfortable, warm atmosphere.  Each bedroom is equipped with its own hearth, heating system, bathroom, and two comfortable beds.  The recently remodeled cellar contains an exclusive collection of the best Argentine wines and game room where you can relax and be entertained.  The swimming pool by the terrace also gives you a chance to unwind in the summertime.  Beautiful Peruvian Marching horses are available for horseback rides around the 17,000 acres of the Estancia where you’ll get a chance to take pictures and relax while enjoying the scenery.

Dove, Duck, and Perdiz Combination Hunt
Our duck, and perdiz combined hunt takes place near the Parana river in the Santa Fe province.  This area is a natural haven for waterfowl.  There are thousands of ducks both on the islands in the Parana river and in the surrounding rice fields.  Many different types of ducks are found in the area, including Cinnamon, Speckled, Black headed and Silver teals, Fulvous and White face trees, Rosie billed pochard, Pintail, White cheek pintail, Red shoveler and Southern widgeon.  Depending on water levels hunters will either be hunting in hip deep water wearing waders or on marsh stools. The season for ducks and is open from February 15 to August 15.

The Argentina perdiz is very similar to both the quail and chuckar.  However, it walks more than the bobwhite quail, and does not stay in coveys.  These birds are fast and very challenging to hunt.  The trained dogs make this hunt a great experience.
For this mixed bag hunt you’ll stay in a beautiful private lodge located along the banks of the Parana river. Once again clients will not have to be driven from hunting site to lodge.  You can step out the door and literally begin your hunt.

Red Stag, Wild Boar, Black Antilope, and Fallow Deer Hunt
The dove, duck, and perdiz hunts may also be combined with a big game hunt.  Available animals are red stag, fallow deer, black antelope, or russian boar.  Hunters will need to stay an extra three days to ensure completion of the big game hunt.  The La Zenaida dove roost is only 1 hour away from the big game lodge in northern Patagonia.

The season for red deer is from March 1 to July 30, the first 20 or 30 days being the most advantageous (from March 15 to April 15).  This is called the roar which is the mating season for males to fight for dominance over the females.

All of the above mentioned hunts can be combined in a different assortment of packages to tailor to each clients individual needs.  In addition to these hunts private tours may be arranged for sight seeing purposes.  Tours may include historical sight seeing, winery tours, and golfing on South Americas best golf coarses.
